Muppet’s Bohemian Viral

1080p now on YouTube
Soapbox Films is the production company quietly behind the new Muppet’s viral video campaign. They also got on here five days back, when we mentioned the new Swell Season video (LonerBoner), as part of the Jason Segel YouTube hit. Two mentions in one week, for clips gaining YouTube traction? Not bad, in a world populated by bogus stuff like the HBO Imagine Cube instillation, that took BBDO and The Barbarian Group over a year to develop. What? You have no idea what I’m talking about? Maybe it’s because no one linked this HBO stunt to you, whereas you can’t navigate anywhere online right now without hitting this Muppets viral.
.
Approaching 1-million hits on one YouTube channel alone , in the first 24 hours -- we’re guessing the 1-day of Muppet money was better spent than the 365-days of HBO cash. Which I think all comes down to this postboomer (LonerBoner) argument from earlier. In that The Barbarian Group is run by a poseur rock-star who’s “who know’s how old,” and trying to put that company out there as the leader in digital advertising… Whereas this small production company in North Hollywood is exclusively staffed by those who are actually young, in both attitude and age. One is clearly more valuable to social media traction than the other, which we suspect involves an age-relevant skill set similar to programming a VCR.

Granted, Muppets Studios is the banner production company credited for the clips, but increasingly with anything in the world of creative & post-production -- outsourcing and subcontracting is the key. Our insider reports on the stunning fact that the entire shoot was completed in one-regular day with the following facts
79 Muppets (vintage ones -- like Emmett Otter!)
53 Set-Ups (FYI -- 20 Set-ups is a busy day)
Maybe it’s not until you work in the mired morass of pharma advertising, that you become complacement with moving at the speed of a tortise, on a budget that would make Malcolm Forbes blush.
Also of note, this is the first 1080p resolution clip that we’ve seen posted on YouTube. Hover over the the “HD” button and a pop-up menu will appear. And of course, all this mentioning is despite the song sucking, to begin with…

On another tip, in case you didn’t know The Muppets split from Sesame Street awhile back. Meaning, The Muppets are now owned by Disney totally, and want no involvement with anything to do with Sesame Workshop.
Which is funny, because about a year back Sesame Street wanted to get Kermit on the air to promote “being green,” in regards to environmental awareness. Disney responded by asking for an insane amount of money, which essentially said “no way.”
Which sort of explains why all this Elmo crap is getting pushed so hard, despite there being much better felt options…
Pedro, it is in poor taste to be the first person responding to your post. If you want to see how it is done please go to pablochiste.wordpress.com
