I am the Prince Rogers Nelson of domain name registration. The same way he effortless bestows pseudonyms like “Carmen Electra,” “Appolonia” and “Vanity,” I somehow come up with amazing dot com winners like “HateBomb.com,” “LonerBoner.com” and “LazyHater.com” The two of us need to go into business together.
For all aspiring digital homesteaders and other pioneers, ready to stake a claim and in need of the right domain name – here is the short-list of URLs. Runners up in this beauty pagent and all still available as of Friday the 13th. What am I going to do with these anyway? Buy them and try to flip them later, like some poor man’s stock market? Too late. The actual resale value of comic books already ruined me on the laughable idea of “collecting” being the same as “investing.”

At first, I couldn’t believe that “lonerwithaboner.com” wasn’t taken. It’s pure genius. Just saying “loner with a boner dot com” is better than an average night of stand-up. But then you start drawing up a shortlist of URLs and before you know it, the slightly amorphous appeal of “lonerboner.com” wins out. It’s still musical and just looks cleaner.

Second place actually went to “HateBomb.com.” However this phrase is linked to a bunch of goth industrial losers on Google, so it seemed best to steer clear. Now HateBomb.com redirects anonymously here, so people can feel polite mentioning this site indirectly.
Speaking of Prince, he’s just one of those easy ways to spot a musician. Just like you know someone’s a drummer, because they’ll oddly mention Rush – anyone with an affinity for either Prince, Elvis Costello or jazz plays an instrument. Normal people could give a shit, beyond the radio hits.
